Practice is part of being a musician.
As important as it is, your sanity and your mental health come first. You come first.
As long as it helps you, it’s okay to take a break.
It’s okay to take day-offs. It’s okay to not feel like practising. It’s okay to procrastinate.
As long as it does not become a habit, and you work on making progress. As long as it. does not become second nature. As long as you don’t stop trying to get back on track.
As long as you practice on the days you plan to practice.
Living life is important.
Take the well-needed break without feeling guilty. I know you will, but it’s for the better.
It may seem ironic but it’s true. Sometimes you come back stronger and better after having not touched it for a while, after the break.
I have to not only remind myself of this at times, Ashley , but validate my thinking too. You're so right, Ashley, Its ok to take a break even from the things you love to do. I felt that way recently.
